Come to Sleigh: The Sledge Hockey Experience is Shine Foundation's annual para ice hockey tournament. Teams of five will register for an incredible team-building experience with Shine Dreamers helping you "sleigh" the ice with a Skills & Drills session prior to game time. In addition to the $5,000 registration fee (tip: ask your company to cover this cost), individuals are tasked to raise a minimum $1,000 each.  Together, your team's fundraising will help deliver a Shine Dream!

Whether you register to play or donate to the event, Come to Sleigh invites you to experience Canada's beloved sport through an accessible lens. Help us show young people across Canada living with a severe physical disability that they CAN dream by raising money to make their Shine Dream come true.

We're asking Canadians to showcase their commitment to addressing IDEA - Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, AND accessibility. 
Gather your team of five made up of colleagues, friends, or family members (over the age of 11). 
No prior (sledge) hockey experience is needed.

No. You'll need to register as a team of 5 people.

Hockey gear: padding (elbow, shin pads are required), CSA approved hockey helmet (cage or visor required), neck guard, gloves. 
Sleds, jerseys, and hockey sticks will be provided. 

The safety of our players is our top priority. In the event of an injury, please inform your teammates or referee and an on-site medical professional will be notified immediately. 

There are height and weight restrictions for using the sleds. Please contact our team privately if you have a concern. 

Upon registration, you will sign up your own team and designate a team captain. If you don't have your full team ready yet - don't sweat! We can set everything up for you on the back end of the registration site. Simply email us at events@shinefoundation.ca
 

In addition to your team registration fee of $5,000, individual players are tasked with fundraising a minimum of $1,000 each. 
In the end, each team will be able to say they've raised money to help make a Shine Dream come true!

Shine will have TipTap machines on-site for additional credit card or debit donations. 

• Teams consist of five players.
• After being fitted with your sledge hockey equipment, we'll start you off with a Skills & Drills session led by experienced Shine Dreamers
• Games are two periods long, 10 minutes each, with a five minute warm up ad five minute break between periods. **
• The rink will be split in half to allow for two games at once. 
• Each team will have the chance to play at least twice.
• No Goalies, we'll be using net targets.
• Puck drops at [TIME TBD]. **

Hockey Casual: For your safety and comfort on the ice, please wear closed-toe footwear and jeans (do not wear track pants or parachute pants). We recommend wearing a thin long-sleeved shirt and bringing an extra layer. Jerseys will be provided.
